Grounding

Barely tested rather than disproven — and the tests we have are small.

Weak evidence

The claim is that direct skin contact with the earth changes inflammation, sleep or pain. The published literature is small, frequently unblinded, runs to a few dozen participants at most, and a striking share of it comes from a connected group of authors with commercial ties. No large independent randomised trial exists. Read what follows as the state of a thin field, not as a verdict.

How this list was built

We searched Europe PMC for English-language papers published since 2005 whose title contains “earthing”, kept meta-analyses, systematic reviews and trials, including non-randomised ones, because strong evidence on this topic is scarce, then ranked them by study design first, then recency and citations. Retracted papers are removed.

Open a paper to read its abstract and ask for an AI brief of what it found.
