Eggs
The cholesterol panic reversed; the argument did not end.
Dietary cholesterol turned out to move blood cholesterol far less than mid-century guidance assumed, and daily limits were dropped from several national guidelines. Trials show eggs raise LDL modestly in some people and barely at all in others. Cohort studies on eggs and cardiovascular events remain genuinely split, and the disagreement tracks what the eggs are eaten instead of.

How this list was built
We searched Europe PMC for English-language papers published since 2012 whose title contains “egg consumption” or “egg intake” or “dietary cholesterol”, kept meta-analyses, systematic reviews, trials and observational studies, because a diet or exposure like this cannot be randomised for long and its outcome evidence lives in cohorts, then ranked them by study design first, then recency and citations. Retracted papers are removed.
Open a paper to read its abstract and ask for an AI brief of what it found.
